How it works
From askingto connected.
- 1
Post what you need
Pick a category, write a title and a few lines, and add a general area if it helps — never an address.
- 2
A person reads first posts
Your first request — and anything touching a sensitive topic — is reviewed by someone on the HEAL team before it goes up.
- 3
Members offer
People who can help send a short note. You get a gentle notification; offers aren’t shown to anyone else.
- 4
You choose
Accept the offer that fits. Declining sends a kind thank-you, and nobody is ever chosen for you.
- 5
Contact only if you opt in
Talk through HEAL first by default. An email is shared only after you accept, and only if each of you chose to share it.
What the board isn’t
Some things needmore than a peer.
- Thoughts of self-harm→ Call or text 988, or 911 in immediate danger.
- Possible overdose→ Call 911. Give naloxone if you have it.
- Withdrawal symptoms→ A doctor, urgent care, or 911 if severe.
- Medication and dosing→ A prescriber or pharmacist.
- Not safe at home→ 911, or the Domestic Violence Hotline.
- Legal emergencies→ A lawyer or local legal aid.
Withdrawal can be medically dangerous. Please talk to a doctor, urgent care, or call 911 if symptoms are severe.
Medication questions belong with a prescriber or pharmacist. HEAL members can’t give medical advice.
If you post this, a person on the HEAL team reviews it first. It won’t appear on the public board.
This check is a routing aid, not a safety system. If you’re worried about yourself or someone else, call now — don’t wait for a reply.
Staying safe
Kind by default,careful by design.

Meeting up?
- Meet somewhere public the first time
- Tell someone where you’re going
- Share only what you choose — never your address up front
- Never send money to someone you haven’t met
Block anyone, any time
Blocking works both ways: you won’t see their requests, they won’t see yours, and they can’t send you an offer. They aren’t told. You can unblock from your profile whenever you like.
Report what feels wrong
Any request or offer. A human moderator reviews every report.
- Harassment or bullying
- Treatment-center solicitation or sales
- Spam or scam
- Sharing someone’s private info
- Unsafe advice (medical, legal)
- Someone may be in danger
- Something else
Treatment-center recruiting and sales are never allowed on the board.
When someone offers on your request
You see each note and who sent it — by pseudonym. Accept the one that fits; when you mark the request resolved, any offers still open are closed with a thank-you. Nothing is shared beyond what you posted.
I drive past there most mornings. Happy to pick you up at 8:30.
Free Thursday morning if you still need someone.
