You don’t have to face it alone.

HEAL is not an emergency service.

HEAL is a peer community. It isn’t monitored around the clock and our members and staff can’t respond to emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, contact these services directly:

The help board

What the help boardis — and isn’t.

The help board connects members for practical, everyday support. It is not a crisis line, and some things should never be crowdsourced.

Good for

  • A ride to an appointment, meeting or job
  • Job leads, résumé help, interview practice
  • Sober-living and housing next steps
  • Finding a sponsor or peer to talk to
  • Everyday things: errands, paperwork, childcare swaps

Not for

  • Medical, medication or detox questions
  • Thoughts of suicide or self-harm
  • Overdose or any medical emergency
  • Abuse, threats or not being safe at home
  • Legal emergencies

If a post touches one of these topics, HEAL keeps it off the public board, shows crisis and professional resources, and sends it for review by a person. A keyword filter is never a substitute for calling for help.
